People often feel as if they were destined for their new homes when they interact with shelter pets. One couple found an incredible coincidence after adopting a rescue, demonstrating that the rescue had been intended all along.

On December 15, 2021, Alyssa DeLuca and her boyfriend Zachary Chin saw one of Trenton Animals Rock’s shelter for adoptable dogs on Facebook.

Alyssa and Zack had no intention of adopting another dog, but they believed it was only fair to give the dog a loving home because his owners were unable to care for him owing to their busy schedules.

Zack remarked something along the lines of, “Well, you know what we have to do now — we have to save him,” after reading the description and turning to face me. The Dodo was informed by Alyssa.

Wes and Arthur were first wary of one another but after a few months, they grew inseparable, Alyssa said on Facebook. “They do everything together, including walk and sleep together.”

Although the two people’s personalities were quite different despite how similar they seemed to be, they were a good match and became great friends.

“We would always say that they were the’same dog in a different font’ because of how similar they looked, and even though they had a lot of differences, their mannerisms were also very similar,” she told The Dodo.

Exactly by chance! The pair bought a DNA test kit from Embark Vet last year. Wes need it to identify the breed of dog he was, whereas Arthur required it for medical reasons.

After receiving the test results, they reached a startling realization: Wes and Arthur are truly brothers!

Wes was “terrified” at the shelter, so it’s a good thing they pulled him out of his kennel as soon as they could, according to The Dodo.

When they brought Wes home, he became close to his doppelgänger, Arthur.

People had believed that Arthur and Wes had more similarities than they really did. However, this was not the case.

It took them a time to understand that by removing Wes from the shelter, they had unintentionally brought together two long-lost siblings.

“It feels great knowing that not only did we rescue Wes and give him the life that he’s always deserved, but that he was also united with his brother, with whom he’s become so close, and gets to live a peaceful life with his best friend/brother by his side,” Alyssa said to The Dodo.

“Thank you to Embark for helping us realize the biggest coincidence of our dogs actually being brothers,” she posted on Facebook. “Thank you to Trenton Animals Rock for all of the work that you do and for introducing us to the sweetest and most misunderstood dog.”
