Dot 92-Year-Old lady initially spoke to staff about her wish to ride after the residents had been visited by several therapy horses, according to the home’s activities coordinator Dani Lane. “We had ponies come into the home, and the residents were able to meet and stroke them,” Dani said. “Later, while we were asking residents if they would want to attempt any activities, Dot shocked everyone by stating that she wanted to ride.


My boss responded that it was something we could accomplish when I questioned whether it was doable. Dot a 92-Year-Old was a little apprehensive about mounting a horse because she needs a wheelchair to travel longer distances, but she was adamant. She threatened to never communicate with them again if they didn’t give her a ride. Dani chuckled.

Dot was put aboard TJ at the riding school, where she was able to have a brief ride while her two kids, granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren looked on.
