Tattoo’s Unique Coat: A Marvel of Nature

During her sophomore year in college, Branigan found herself doing an internship at a breeder barn, where she began learning the intricacies of caring for pregnant mares.
The name “Tattoo” was chosen by Branigan’s mother because it signifies “rhythmic tapping or drumming.” Branigan explains that the sight of him has always made her heart pound since the day she met him.
Branigan recounted, “I was in the restroom, holding the horse in my lap, and sobbing uncontrollably.” She fell in love with him instantly. Determined to help him adjust to social situations, they became close pals. They were often seen hugging, even while Tattoo was asleep.
On Christmas morning, Branigan received a portrait of Tattoo, which was a surprising and emotional moment for her. However, her joy turned to tears when she noticed the words “transfer of ownership” written underneath the photo. As it happened, six months prior, her parents had bought him for her.
She was overjoyed and filled with excitement when she realized that the horse had been hers all along.
For the aspiring young horse trainer, it was a dream come true as she and Tattoo participated in several “firsts” in horse exhibitions and contests.
Tattoo now delights in mischief, chasing Branigan, and interacting with miniature horses and donkeys.
